Hello! This is a mini project I created for GDG DevFest Brunei 2023, with the wider Brunei IT community in mind. I’m happy to have met and spoken to those in the community that resonate with the idea of connecting over vulnerability & empathy. (You may read more under About)
I have some ideas on extending (not necessarily scaling up, haha) this project, but this current version you’re seeing was built very quickly for DevFest within WordPress’ limitations, so I will likely need to rebuild it. So please bear with me. If you’d like to contact me about this project, please head here.
Thanks for visiting! – Hazirah M
For GDG DevFest Brunei 2023
This is a mini project about mental health and maintaining our humanness within our tech community.
You are invited to share a confession – an insecurity, or a story of failure, or something else – to acknowledge being human and having fears, worries, weaknesses.
Before you submit:
Read more about why this might be helpful to you or the tech community:
You can be an IT student, tech enthusiast, or an IT practitioner – and you may still have insecurities or stories, in your environment or career, that make you feel like a fraud, inferior to others, or isolated from your peers.
If you can, please share a tech confession, and it will be shared anonymously for others to read, connect with, or even empathise with. You may be surprised who else has felt exactly the same as you.

Please abide by the global code of conduct for Google Community events.
This project is meant to be a safe space:
- Submissions will be moderated, we’ll check that confessions are not sent in bad faith or to troll, or containing offensive content related to race, gender, or other sensitive topics. (If you have a genuine confession that contained any such content, maybe you need to address that in a different kind of outlet 🙂)
- Moderation will happen around every 30 minutes during the exhibition times at DevFest Brunei 2023, on 2nd and 3rd December 2023, 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
- Submissions that haven’t been moderated yet will be labelled accordingly.
